In our face-to-face class, we take some time to work through the Mutual Fund Case Studies Links to an external site. document.  The students break into small groups and work together to make recommendations for the individuals in the three cases.  Read through the three cases and make prudent, long-term oriented recommendations to the individuals in each case.

Yeah, yeah, I know.  If you are like most students, you are terrified of the thought of this worksheet.  Don't worry!  Listen to the commentary.  Simply make the best choices you can.  No one can ask from you anything more than you do your best.  And if you were, for example, asked to do something along these lines on an exam, remember that as long as you give a remotely reasonable explanation for why you chose the mutual fund or funds that you did, it would be accepted by a certain eccentric, yet dedicated BUS-123 instructor.  Of course, if you listen to the audio commentary and choose the same types of mutual funds that aforementioned certain eccentric, yet dedicated BUS-123 instructor recommends, all the better!
