What is Zoom? (faculty)
SWC's Zoom (formerly ConferZoom) allows California Community College educators to use the professional version of Zoom video conferencing software with their students for free! Our version of Zoom is a service for the administrators, staff and faculty of the California Community Colleges system, funded by a grant from the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office.
Why Use Zoom?
Faculty can use Zoom to virtually meet with their students and colleagues in real time, any time. The version of Zoom now available in Canvas is the CCC-licensed version of the commercial Zoom product, so this special pro account allows meetings of any length to be held and up to 300 participants versus the typical restrictions the regular version of Zoom has in place.
How to Sign Up
California Community College employees are eligible for a free pro Zoom account! The key benefits of a pro account are that it waives the meeting time restrictions and participant limits in place on the commercial Zoom account.
If you are teaching at SWC and wish to use Zoom, you will need an SWC Zoom Account. It's easy to request one, and all the information you need is on the SWC Zoom webpage.
